Review on 🌀 Hose for Dyson DC24 The Ball Upright Vacuum - Genuine Replacement Suction Hose Assembly (Part 914702-01) by Linda Porter

When the little red button on my original hose broke I thought I would never use the hose again. This is such a stupid part. It's basically a plastic rocker switch with a spring underneath, but it gives you the option to detach the handle from the hose when you're done with it, so that's a big deal! Dyson is charging too much for a genuine part so I thought I'd give it a try. The hose fits my DC24 exactly like the original part and is replaced in a few minutes. I've been using it daily for several weeks and haven't noticed any unusual stiffness or other imperfections. Smart Tip: Before attempting to install this part, remove the shipping protections (plugs?) from BOTH ends of the hose. ! On one side this is very noticeable, but on the side that snaps onto the vacuum cleaner itself, the shipping protector looks like a large gasket. It says "remove before install" so you need to pull it out. I didn't notice the writing, and since it's made of molded black plastic, it looks like it's part of a hose. If you don't remove this you won't be able to properly snap the hose in place and cause quite a bit of swearing.
