Review on Narata Storytelling Cards Core Deck by Lokesh Das

I'm a gamemaster, author, and collector of storytelling tools—tarot cards, Rory's story dice, clue books, etc.—and the tools I've needed , these are my favourites. The 27-card logline method has given me some pretty original ideas—things I wouldn't have thought of myself—and that's what makes these cards so successful in my book. Perhaps the best thing about the cards is that they contain several related clues in the bottom half - for example, the "Zombie" card invites you to read it alternatively as "auto" or "vampire" - for more variety in ideation . This goes a long way to solving one of the classic problems with storytelling tools: some cards or dice don't "fit" with certain storylines or genres, or are in strong conflict with other cards already drawn. Also, a card can suggest multiple storylines and interact with other cards in different ways, e.g. B. suggest a vampire politician, a zombie player or a vending machine child. This alone represents a significant innovation in storytelling tools, and I'll happily buy each of the expansions when they come out.
