This review is for Biokleen Laundry Liquid, Cold Water, 32 oz. natural detergent (and is rated A in the EWG like the original liquid detergent) so it's thinner than regular detergent (not natural detergent) and doesn't foam as much, but I get by with it and it's still enough to wash well to clean. This protects the environment and my skin. Stains: I don't usually have heavily soiled clothes, but I use this detergent to identify clean underarm stains before throwing the clothes in the washing machine and it does an excellent job of removing odors. However, I cannot speak of stronger stains. UPDATE 25-Jan-17: I've used this to remove chocolate stains, yesterday's greasy stains and weird reddish stains on the bottom of my pants. I pretreated the chocolate and grease stains (slightly dampened the stain, rubbed in the detergent vigorously, left for at least 5 minutes, rinsed, repeated without rinsing, then washed) and they washed perfectly. I forgot to pre-treat the weird red spots on the bottom of the legs but after I put them in the wash everything went fine. I still love this cleaner! Odour: Light citrus aroma. It only stays lightly on my clothes, but that's probably because I dry all my clothes indoors and don't use the dryer. (I also share the washing machine with others who use regular detergents, so it's possible that some of the smell is from other detergents and not this one.) On the other hand, I have eczema and this detergent hasn't made my eczema worse. like many typical detergents, either due to synthetic fragrances or other harsh ingredients not found in this detergent. My eczema has actually improved since using this cleanser, but it could be due to other factors as well. Liquid Concentration, Water Temperature: The liquid is very concentrated and you really only need a small amount for each load as per the instructions on the bottle. I use cold water 99% of the time, but I used it once with warm water and it was great. Personally, I've found that many clothes can be washed cold even if the label says warm, but not the other way around (I don't put cold clothes in warm cycles, mine is so faded, but always google when in doubt), so I'm happy to stick around in the cold. Saving energy by using cold water (and hot water for showers!) is good too. 32 ounce packaging (not an eco bottle): I LOVE the smaller size! It's not that heavy and makes it easier for me to take it to the laundry as I don't keep it there (shared car again). It doesn't have a handle so keep that in mind but that doesn't bother me. Pouring is easy enough, but depending on the person, two hands may be required to pour. I like to use two hands just to make sure it's sturdy and I haven't accidentally spilled detergent yet. In general, a cold water cleaner is a good cleaner that works well in cold water. I've only used it on lightly soiled clothes, but with great success. It doesn't irritate my skin. I will buy again. I'll probably buy a larger size and pour some into the smaller bottle I already have.
