wow hoo! Works great!

so here is my situation. I just picked up a 2005 Silverado 2500 HD to tow my 25 foot boat. As a 2005 model, the Silverado does not have a factory rear view camera. However, this is only half the problem. I was also looking for a way to have a backup camera when towing and lowering the boat. So I checked the wireless system. The problem is where the camera is installed and how it is powered. Normally you just connect the reversing lights, but how do you do that with a boat and a trailer? I cannot install a camera on the back of a trailer. Every time I take off, I dip my camera in water. If I installed it on the boat and hooked it up to the trailer lights I would probably forget to turn it off when starting and rip out the wiring. So, here's what I have. I mounted the camera on the stern of the boat and used a 12 volt remote controlled switch (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M02ZFT8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). This allows me to disable my wireless camera when not in use. When I need it, I switch to the secondary channel on the wireless monitor and turn on the wireless camera with the remote control. This circuit has the added benefit of being able to move the monitor from the truck (4 knurled screws) into the cab. and have a backup camera when I'm on the water. The seller was very responsive and helpful and quickly answered all my questions. I am impressed by the quality and value of this device. If you have a similar situation, this is a very profitable solution.
