Absolutely smitten with this adorable baby! I expected a thin, transparent strip, but got a hefty piece of glass and metal. And it works! I'm a dedicated still life photographer and have wanted a Nikon 85mm macro lens for a long time, but at $500 I just couldn't justify the cost. I recently got myself a 35mm Prime f1.8 lens (and I LOVE it) that focuses out to 11.8", and then I stumbled across this $25 bad boy, why not? This is the third photo I took. Just look at this detail. Maybe 2 inches from the bottle. I think anyone who has ever thought about macro photography would do the right thing by pairing it with a good fast prime lens and giving it a try. I am very happy with this lens. 1 caveat: For some reason it doesn't fit Nikon 18-55mm DX VRII lens, it's too big. It works best in good light and I think the ultra-fast f1.8 lens really helps. Highly recommended. Update: I just took 2 photos of flowers in the backyard. do you see pollen And look what a vibrant color! Wonderful! Remember, this lens attaches to your camera lens, not the camera itself, so keep that in mind. Photos of flowers were taken with a Nikon 35mm f1.8 fixed focal lens with priority S at 1/3200.
