I bought this case in preparation for a PCT hike. I've been through several training and prep hikes and this is the best cover I've had. The vertical and horizontal tethers prevent the pack from inflating or flying away in strong winds when I put on or take off my pack. There are still no cracks or scratches, despite the backpack being climbed up and down several times on different surfaces. No backpack sleeve is completely waterproof due to the backpack straps and hip belt, but it does well against heavy dew and light drizzle. The only drawback is the color representation, I ordered bright orange; it feels like it needs 4 D batteries to make it light up! Make sure you want a really really bright one before ordering!
