I have had carpal tunnel syndrome for 25 years. It flashes every now and then. I have a drawer full of wrist rests, most of which I hate. A typical brace has a metal bar that prevents me from bending my wrist. I need maintenance, but metal is completely inflexible. He usually digs into my arm (oops). Best fit within an hour or two, but I often type or code for hours and end up with my hand screaming. I can often remove the bar, but then the wrist rest becomes too flexible. THIS support (Proflex 4000) has a slightly strong but flexible rod. Not too flexible, not too rigid. A few years ago, my chiropractor gave me a Muller brace that is very similar to the ProFlex. I liked it, but once it wore out I couldn't find another Mueller like it or anything. I kept the old Müller for comparison - it's a relief to finally have an equivalent product again. Another common problem is wrapping around the thumb. The ProFlex 4000 is highly customizable. Third, these carriers differ in the amount of heat they hold. Sometimes I want warmth, but I live in Florida and often work outside at a table. That gives me more than enough moist warmth. When I need warmth, I want neoprene. If I don't want extra heat, as long as (3 days) it's reasonable. My wrist doesn't cool, but it doesn't boil either. Finally, the material of some palm rests irritates my hand (itching, slight rash, etc.). This one seems fine.
