I'll start by not arguing with those who underestimate this collar because of the obviously flimsy ID tag holder. I don't use this feature because I prefer to use a solid steel ring to attach the ID anyway, so I won't rate the product negatively. In my opinion, this weakness is more than compensated for by the good width of the collar - wider than many collars that fit the same neck size. Why is it important? Because the wider the collar, the less pressure there is on the pulling dog's neck and the less likely it is that the animal will injure itself. Our newest collar was a bit wider but had to be adjusted to the minimum length to fit our dog's neck. Even then it was a little looser than I prefer. Also, I think the double steel rings provide extra security in case the plastic buckle fails. Of course, this has never happened to me, but I suppose it could be.
