I admit that I'm not a "super techie". I'm somewhere in the middle. I know enough to be dangerous. I know where to connect what. I have a 2012 Macbook which is still in great condition. But the screen is only 13 inches, so I definitely needed a second screen when I started working from home. Ransacked monitors and decided to buy this beauty. It was exactly what I needed. It came with an HDMI cable to connect to my laptop. Image quality and brightness are excellent. I write a lot. I don't use this screen for gaming. I would highly recommend it to anyone "who isn't a tech genius but needs something reliable".
