Review on πŸ‹οΈ Polar T31 Coded Chest Transmitter with Elastic Strap by Omar Allen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

2 year battery life BUT read full review

I bought this "NEW" in June 2016. warm and a little sweaty then it starts to work and slowly drops from around 220bpm to my actual heart rate. (my heart isn't beating at 220bpm) There are 25 bikes spinning in the room, he's doing the same thing ON ALL 25 BIKES, ONE BIKE EACH, so it's not a heart rate readout on the "BIKE"! I've been using Polar HRM since the 1990s, maybe the 1980s? Battery life has been getting shorter and shorter in the last 5 or 10 years. Maybe mine sat on a shelf in a department store or bike shop for the first 5 or 10 years of its life before I bought it "NEW" from Revain? I honestly don't know what to do. I have to buy another one because all the equipment I use at the gym (where I work) is Polar compatible. Maybe the uncoded one is cheaper and lasts longer, we'll see. This is a sequel, March 2019. I've been trying to experiment for the past month or two. I run the transmitter under water in the gym sink for a second or two just to get it wet. I put it on wet clothes and go to a spin room and it works great once I turn on the heart rate monitor on the bike. Works great throughout the workout. So if you have one that stops working or is intermittent, run it underwater and put it on to see if it works. Maybe it's an indicator that the battery is getting low, but it saved me from buying a new one for now. Much luck!
