There are some spelling mistakes that caught my eye right away, but that's not a problem if the product works well. There are many spelling mistakes in the booklet and on the box, but I can still understand English. The box was weird too, it has two flip sides instead of front and back. it has the same paragraph of information on both sides, with no distinction and no product branding or what it represents on either side. The box slides out for easy access. Inside is the curling iron itself with an accordion-folded booklet detailing cleaning, use, safety precautions, style, limited warranty, and a diagram explaining the names of the buttons/parts and the location of those buttons/parts. I was told to expect smoke with an odor and a buzzing sound when first heated, but all I noticed was a strange smell. although it didn't smell like burning. it went away on its own within a minute or so. What I don't like is that it talks about a dial that can control temperature but doesn't control temperature. There's actually no way to control the temperature, there's just a button to turn it on and off, and repeated presses or long presses do nothing, just displaying "off" each time. as if regulating the temperature. mine started at 180 and after using it on the first strand of hair it went up to 200 and 210 on its own. I don't know why it did that. At least the display is bright. Another thing I don't like is that the rotating cable and power button are awkwardly positioned in relation to each other. I twist the cord as I work on my curls and I keep hitting the on/off button every time just by pure chance. It's annoying, but the heat remains stable for the most part and rises on its own in places, which is a little concerning. I've added photos of how well it curls my hair. I like how the sections I've worked on have turned out. It was very fast and I only held her for 3 seconds to get those twirls.
