This is a really good LED bulb with good build quality and lots of controls. The cylindrical diffuser spreads the light well so there are no obvious hotspots at the LED emitter locations inside the housing. This sets it apart from many LED lights where hotspots are painfully obvious to the eye. The lamp diffuser is plastic but doesn't look cheap and is definitely resistant to breakage from jumping cats, tipping over and toddler fingers. The control design of this light is well thought out. There is a dial on the top of the device that makes it easy to increase or decrease the brightness of the light output. There is an on/off switch in a rotating ring at the top center of the lamp. This makes it easy to find the button with your finger when your eyes are closed (to avoid falling asleep) or in the dark, which is particularly useful when the lamp is used as a bedside light. Also pleasing is the ability to easily change the overall color temperature of the light from warm (red hue) to cold (white hue). You can also mix the lamp or have it emit colors between red, greedy or blue tones to get just the mood lighting you want. it could be used more effectively as a night light. As is, the lowest light setting is fine for most applications, including as a bedside reading light, but dimming the lamp to a lower level makes it even more useful. I was satisfied with this lamp and will most likely order more.
