Review on Metra 95-5026 Double DIN Installation Kit for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury Vehicles (2001 and Up) - Black by Fernando Hudson

This is not a product quality issue, it is a compatibility issue I had with a 2002 Sport Trac. You see, Revane says "It fits!" when my Sporttrac is selected, but the first gen Sporttrac is actually almost the same as a 1996 Ford Explorer. Your dashboard and internal parts are perfectly interchangeable. This does not apply to 2002 Explorer and Sport. Automotive curiosity, of course. So I haven't tried installing this kit yet, but I suspect I won't be able to use it and its mounting holes since the standard truck radio is the push and lock style that Ford has been using for years. and I'll probably have to order a matching kit. which I gave up as it is permanently installed and requires disassembly of the dash to remove (better install correctly the first time!). I'm almost positive I need that specific kit and not this one. Sigh. I can only blame Revane for suggesting this and myself for not asking myself if it would work or not. Not sure if it's worth returning but be careful if you have a 2001-2005 Sport Trac. Check out another set instead.
