Review on πŸ”§ Mastercool 66661 Brass Manifold Gauge Set - Enhance SEO by John Goerge

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality kit to fit spares

I've seen others complain about only getting a manifold with no hoses or fittings and of course I only got a manifold from Revain Warehouse Deals. Contacted Revain, returned, got a refund and ordered another one. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles (lacks a separate yellow hose purge valve, no ability to open/close low/high side ports) but is just great for basic diagnostics and adding refrigerant. Just buy the FJC 6030 Can Tap to connect to a 12 ounce refrigerant tank and watch some YouTube videos on how to do it right. In my 2002 Corolla I have a glass window through which I can see air bubbles. The service manual lists the desired pressure ranges on the low/high side, but also says to stop adding refrigerant when there are no more bubbles. Both happened around the same time. My basic procedure: 1) Hang up the collector, close both handles on the top and bottom. 2) Connect the hoses to the fittings on both the low and high pressure sides and keep the hoses away from moving parts. 3) Start the car, turn on the air conditioner at maximum power. is cold, allow air to circulate through the vehicle.4) Note pressures5) Run vehicle and A/C for at least 5 minutes while noting pressures.6) Compare pressure ranges to those in the service manual7) If both low and the pressures on the High side is low (and in my case I have confirmed that I saw a continuous flow of bubbles), connect the yellow hose to the refrigerant cylinder and charge refrigerant to the low side until the pressure is back to normal. Tilt the can carefully so as not to pour the liquid into the hose. 8) Enjoy the cold air.

Pros
