These bags are easy to use once installed. They only hold a small amount, so don't plan on loading them with rocks or you'll hit the 1 pound weight limit. I put steel water bottles in each one and ride my bike. The water bottles were left in place. Problems: 1. Installation: They were difficult to install on my 2008 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic. The material was too stiff and/or too short to fit around the fenders. As I tugged and stretched on the ends, the latches continued to loosen. Very frustrating. Finally, I took a heat gun and heated the vinyl (or PVC or whatever they're made of) to stretch the material so it fits and snaps. I cracked them when they were warm (be careful as you can melt them) and they stayed cracked when they cooled. Perhaps heat should be added in the installation guide. The part that rubs is the locking tab on the front of the bag. I think you could take it off if you were so inclined. Pic 1: Water bottle in place. Image 2: Friction when lifting the plank. Image 3: The base plate is cleaned when it is lowered. This is the recap of the first day.
