When I first touched the footage I thought everything was fine. It wasn't the softest silk, but it wasn't too coarse either. Sleeping on it was a whole different story as I felt my warmth was warming up the pillow/material very quickly so I had to keep turning the pillow over to feel cool again. The price is cheap so I wasn't expecting a miracle but I would recommend getting something more expensive especially if you want to keep your pillow/pillow case cool all the time. This silk is great at keeping you warm so I highly recommend it if you plan on camping or going anywhere in freezing weather as I'm sure it will keep you warm. The material is also good enough if you want to use it for crafts or cosplay. It says hand wash only but I put it in the washing machine and it worked fine but I highly recommend washing it mainly with fabric softener before use as I thought it helped soften it make.
