I copied a 32GB Adobe Lightroom file back and forth between this drive and an older Cruzer. In all cases, writing to this drive is much faster and reading is much faster on a USB3 system. Now that this drive costs the same (maybe even cheaper) as the old one and is compatible with the same systems, I see no reason to buy the old one. (Seems obvious that the newer one would be faster, but in my case it's significantly faster.) Test systems: new Macbook Pro with USB3, old Mac Pro with USB2; both with SSD Test file: Adobe Lightroom Library, 32.17 GB on Sandisk Cruzer Glide 3.0 256 GB drive (this drive) USB2 in/out: 36.1 min / 14.7 min USB3 in/out: 19.5 min / 3 , 9 minSandisk Cruzer USB 2.0 256GbUSB2 to/out: 72.5 min / 14.8 min USB3 in/out: 80.1 min / 18.8 min USB2 Mac read times were about the same in all cases. In terms of write time, this disc was 2-4 times faster in all cases.
