Definitely helped to reduce the pure trumpet volume. Not much, and yes, the more restrictive baffle that comes with the trumpet is quieter but takes away the pleasant guttivity and makes it rougher. So I'm left with this aftermarket style baffle with a catalytic converter. If you drive according to the actual speed limit, you will not overwhelm your ears loudly. For $12 it's worth a try and see what you think?
