Beautiful, bright lighting under kitchen worktops. My old fluorescent lamp looks dim in comparison. The installation video at the top of this page makes it easy to set up the light as a simple standalone corded light that plugs into a wall outlet. I couldn't have done it without the video, but the video was great! The light came with no instructions (and if there were any I lost them). Without the video I wouldn't have figured out what screws to use to open the light, or find set screws, wire nuts, or adapters, or what hole to punch. It wasn't difficult at all, but it did take a tutorial video. The video showed me exactly how to set up the lamp as a wired plug. There was room in the fixture to add a bit of extra cord length in case I wanted to use the light elsewhere. The video recommends adding a simple loop to the cable (inside the mount) to prevent the cable from being pulled out. This can be a very loose knot with a loop that can be tied down the length of the cord to adjust its length afterwards. So I started a little longer and then trimmed the length of the cable that extends past the bracket to make it cleaner to route the wiring under the counter. Instead of the wire shackle the instructor used, I prefer a shell hook so I can easily remove or replace the line if I ever need to do so.
