Review on ๐Ÿš— Bilstein 24248129 Shock Absorber: Premium Suspension Enhancement for a Smoother Ride by Rafael Lee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is Bilstein, any questions?

Disclosure I didn't buy mine here but I know people read a lot of reviews here. so bad it dump truck-like, rolls around, feels jerky at freeway speeds, and is unstable on corners. Also take the back ones. You will need ten additional minutes to install while the truck is on the lift to do this from the front. I got Bilstein shocks on everything I have and I don't know why I waited so long. This is probably the biggest factory upgrade I've ever received from Bilstein. Once you see these best factory dampers, the quality is obvious, these moms go strong. These dampers are extremely comfortable for trucks and are hard when needed. Cornering confidence is back and better than new. It should be noted that the lowest setting does not remove the factory rails, which is what I wanted as my rear blocks are removed. The highest setting leaves a very slight hint of lean. A lifting platform and a good spring compressor are recommended. Lower the top control lever, release the brakes, unscrew the rear handlebars, and with a second pair of hands you can slide it in and out without too much drama. You also need to be loose without tearing the brake lines, so remove a bolt holding the clip to the steering knuckle. Before disassembling, take a picture of the factory coil and also read the instructions carefully. Don't do what we did and don't turn the lower spring basket upside down and take it apart again.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
