Review on InnoView INVPM204: 14" Portable Touchscreen Monitor with Auto-Rotating Display, Glossy Screen, Flicker-Free & Built-In Speakers by Joshua Lipsey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very thin compact portable monitor. Excellent!

UPDATE 12/11/2021: I checked the monitor again with the same cables and even swapped them at different positions on the monitor. No more flickering. I don't see any problems at all. The monitor works well, very thin, compact, looks sharp and very clear. I find the 14 inch size perfect for travel and home office use. Upgrade to 5 stars.--------------------------------------------- ------- ----- Got the 14 inch Innoview monitor today. Packed was good, the monitor is not damaged during transport. Initial thoughts upon unboxing were very good, I was impressed with the time it took the company to develop the packaging and initial look. Good points here. Everything from the cables to the adapter was wrapped in plastic. The nested was thin, but better than nothing. I will leave it as a spare, I have ordered another case with better protection. The stand was beautiful, solid and built to last. The speakers sound tinny, as expected, but that's ok, I bought my own speakers if needed. Screen quality was excellent, but I would have preferred an edge-to-edge panel instead. Innoview can make this 14-inch screen smaller, making it more compact while still maintaining its 14-inch diagonals. One day I would prefer this type of setup. This monitor was connected to my high-end Dell XPS 13 with Thunderbolt ports on both sides. Used and connected the included USB-C cable. Everything went fine for a few minutes, then it started flickering and eventually went out. I couldn't figure out the problem here, so I used a different cable that was provided and got the same results! Hm? What could be the problem? The USB-C cable was connected to the top USB-C port on the monitor. So as I went ahead and plugged the cable into the bottom USB-C port, the monitor came alive. That was good news, but the monitor should work no matter which USB-C port is used, so I figured the TOP USB-C PORT was DEFECTIVE. Not sure but I'll keep testing the ports and see if this is the case, if so I'll go back and order another unit. I will come back in the next few days and update this review. Overall I like the monitor, it is compact and offers many features as a second monitor. I am only interested in this monitor to use with my laptop. If there are no more problems, the rating increases to 5 stars.

Pros
  • Its anti-reflective coating prevents eye strain.
Cons
  • Big and bulky
