Holes mismatched

I was trying to replace a Moen lamp that was about 25 years old. The holes on this replacement don't line up with the holes on the valve so I couldn't do it. See attached picture - this was the block I replaced. Just note the screw placement on your existing device before ordering. Everything is fine with the attachment, just didn't notice the location of the holes.
