Good all round monitor, disappointed with slow response times and some dead pixels

I ordered this PXC243, Viotek GFV24C and E258B scepter and tried them all side by side. Viotek was the worst of them, but also the oldest and cheapest, so no wonder (I was going to order a Viotek GN24CB). At least it had no dead pixels. The Pixio had good picture quality, colors and excellent contrast ratio, but was let down by slow response times. Blurring is noticeable both in tests and in games. The color might also need some calibration, but it's still best of all. However the first Pixio I had had 4 dead pixels, the replacement had 1 dead pixel and I ended up getting another for another computer in the house and it was 2 dead pixels. Rather than bringing her back straight away I'll see if it gets any worse over the next month. It looks like you can count on dead pixels on this model. The Scepter was by far the fastest monitor, with no blurring and very sharp images. However, color reproduction and contrast are not as strong as with the Pixio. Best for pure play. The backlighting is also uneven, which doesn't really matter in games, but it can be noticeable with windows. There can be some flickering even with Fresync enabled when the backlight is off at low levels, but this is imperceptible at higher levels. There are no dead pixels on the scepter. better monitor around (although according to reviews Viotek GN24C is even better). If you're happy with a dead pixel or 2, you can send it in for warranty repair, but you'll have to pay shipping. So it's better to use Amazon to replace it. Scepter is better suited for pure gaming performance, noticeably crisper in the game.
