Review on ChargerCity Nonslip Smartphone Friction Dashboard by Nick Singh

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Seems ok though. fits accessory

I ordered this to hold my smartphone as a dash cam in a camper van so it needs to be held still and not move. Haven't had a chance to drive the camper to see if the bean bag holder stays in place but it seems like it should and if not, double sided tape will probably work. My main complaint about it is that it came in an unsealed box. That is, the box containing the item was not nested within another box, but was an actual mailer box and unsealed, allowing anyone to take the device out, play with it, remove items from the box, or remove seals from tape. and then put it back, and nobody would be the wiser. When it first arrived I couldn't believe it was sent like this but the shipping label was on the unsealed box so here it is. This is the reason for my rating. Do not send me unsealed items. Update: I've been using this smartphone mount as a dashcam for about 6 months and can say I've noticed that it doesn't move on the van dashboard. as I feared, but it tends to freak out. That said, the mount stays where I put it and doesn't "walk" to one side or the other and doesn't move toward or away from the windshield, but I have to change it every 10 minutes or so at 10 turn back degrees to he points straight ahead. Of course it depends on how slippery the highway is, but it's a constant, albeit solvable, problem.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Operating speed
