This year we had to put our Christmas tree in a place where there was no nearby socket. I bought them hoping to solve this problem! For the most part they worked great. I will say that once decorations were placed on the tree, the light became very, very dim. For this reason I am deducting a star. Otherwise, I'm very happy with their performance! I started at the top of the tree and ran my lanterns around and down from there. This is the opposite of what I normally do. The reason for this was that I could easily access the batteries in the power pack. I installed it on the inside of one of the lower branches of my tree and it worked great! With the timer function switched on, the battery lasted 2-3 weeks - 6 hours a day. I changed my clothes twice while putting up the tree.
