There are much better in wall subwoofers on the market but not at this price. I first hooked it up to an $80 Revain amp that was supposed to be rated at 300 watts, but I had to turn the gain all the way up to get an audible volume. I replaced it with a 500w OSD amp and it's a good combination. The key to these units are 16" wall studs, otherwise you'll either have to fit a couple of studs or just send them back. I think a lot of people order them before they checkout, so this is a series of open box sales. After the drywall is cut (the most important step), the speaker is screwed to the wall studs and the grille is held in place by magnets on the sides of the frame. It fits snugly so there is no vibration.
