After a month of use I wanted to update my review. Especially for people with large draft dogs. I have a Cane Corso and when she sees something she takes off. Difficult! When I originally reviewed this, it only took off once after the cat, and while the item didn't move at all, the harness I was using snapped immediately. After that I used her choke collar again while using this one (I know it's not recommended but I couldn't risk breaking the harness again). In the three weeks she's been using this collar, there have been two occasions when she broke, but that stopped her. Half of the stakes on one side rose a few inches from the ground. I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't been with her to stop her, she probably would have had more time (and more traction) to eventually pull the remaining stakes out of the ground. I'm still not sure about including it in Quikrete because I would really like to use it when it gets warmer because my family spends a lot of time hiking, a day at the lake etc. but definitely not convinced is something I can use when I'm not also actively pursuing it. I recently moved from a house where I had a cart for my Cane Corso to a house with no fence and no trees in the yard. do one more Actually I didn't want to "build" the screed but didn't think I would find anything strong, especially as this had previously uprooted a small tree by pulling! After several weeks of searching for various options, reviews, etc. on the Internet. I decided to give it a try as it has been consistently recommended on almost every major dog website/forum. I originally planned to install it in Quikrete and after getting it I definitely thought I would need it too! I decided to try it without Quikrete first because I liked being able to use it elsewhere if needed. It's only been a week, but so far so good! She only really fell/reached once when she saw the cat, but she didn't move at all! It doesn't seem like anything special, but I'm glad I trusted all the reviews/ratings. I am very impressed and would definitely recommend it!
