Bought a Koomus CD slot car holder for smartphones. Tried it on 2 cars: Honda Odyssey 2016 and Acura ILX 2016. Used with iPhone 6 specifically. Can be used in both cars, but I use it in Acura ILX because it's more convenient for this car (for Odyssey with Koomus CD - Air). The device is very easy to connect to the CD slot, but you have to use both hands. Also, I'd recommend inserting it in the center of the slot - it can be shifted a bit to either side, but I'd be concerned about the outer plastic of the CD slot tearing. Carefully insert it fully with both hands, otherwise it will not have the required grip and will not come out during use. You can mount the device in two different ways (the difference is rotating the mount 180 degrees). When it comes to configuration, it really matters how it sits over the dash and what it covers. If you already have a CD in the CD slot, it will still play just fine - just don't try to eject it when this car mount is in the CD slot. Usage - The ball head allows for some movement, but it's not essential - just rotate it far enough toward the rider. So I think it will work better in smaller vehicles - larger vehicles will require a longer reach mount. In addition, it can be easily rotated to a horizontal or vertical position with one hand. Putting the phone in the holder with one hand is easy, getting it out with one hand is a bit more difficult, but possible. The stretchable arm spring isn't as firm as a similar device - my phone didn't slip out, but I do feel the phone can slip out depending on the type of phone case used. and how bad the roads are (especially when they are thick) - I use a Seidio SURFACE case which is very thin. The grip plate is large enough (has a large surface area) and the grip holds it in place well and provides support when typing and using the phone with your finger. The phone (when used in Acura ILX 2016) covers part of the touchscreen (used in vertical position), but most of the touchscreen is easily accessible and visible (you can see how much it covers in my photos). You can also rotate it and use it in a horizontal position, reducing the problem of closing the dashboard touchscreen. While driving, especially outdoors, the phone/screen shakes noticeably, but not enough to be distracting or unusable. Advantages: unobtrusive but absolutely comfortable (to the driver's eyes) placement, does not occupy or obscure the windshield area (compared to suction cup mounts), easy installation and removal, CD player is fully functional (if CD is inserted in front of the installation bracket) , the phone can be placed in the stand with one hand, easy to adjust, pressure can be applied directly to the phone to use with one finger. Cons: You have to be careful when inserting/removing the device into the CD slot - I have a feeling it's possible to damage the plastic outer shell of the CD holder on the dashboard. On the go, the phone shakes a little, especially on the road (but not enough to be distracting). General design - time will tell but I see a possibility that the plastic ball joint will break over time.
