I've had this monitor for about a year now and I love it! I rate it 4 stars overall, but if all you do is serious business productivity, this is a 5 star device. Performance: fantastic screen resolution; plenty of space to distribute your work on the screen and avoid context switching. Dell has the best built-in KVM functionality of the various monitors I've tried; Performance is good but not great. This monitor has 2 USB Type-B inputs for connecting to two different computers and a pair of USB Type-A outputs for a built-in USB hub (to which you can connect a keyboard/mouse). It has two HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input. It features a USB Type-C connector that serves as both a display input and a USB upstream port. The monitor allows you to map the display input to one of the Type B USB upstream ports so that the hub switches to that upstream when you enable that display input. You cannot select upstream when USB Type-C is active; it automatically switches upstream to USB Type-C. The result of all this is that you can connect up to three computers to the monitor and use the same display, keyboard and mouse without having to plug and unplug cables to switch between them. It works well but the OSD is a little disappointing. on the monitor; the OSD is slow to respond (it takes a few seconds to appear!), and the buttons are typical Dell - 5 buttons below the bottom of the screen with no labels and a counter-intuitive layout/function that is time consuming. Press the button to switch the input. This allows labels to be assigned to two inputs; Double-clicking either assignable button results in a "quick switch" to the assigned channel, but there are a number of caveats: If there's no signal on the current channel, the shortcut won't work. If there is no signal on the target channel, the monitor may automatically switch to another channel. If you have three devices, you have to live with it and use the full OSD about a third of the time. None of that is an obstacle, but it's the least appealing part of using this monitor. A joystick-style OSD would be a very welcome change, and speeding up the menu display would make it almost perfect. Picture-by-Picture: You can set up your monitor as if it were two 27-inch monitors side by side. I personally didn't like this feature, I would have preferred to just switch channels and see another input in full display resolution. the resolution on both screens must match the new aspect ratio to eliminate black bars at the top and bottom. a fantastic refresh rate for today's games, and the lack of any GPU syncing capability means you'll notice screen tearing. However, it was quite enough to play Assassin's Creed Odyssey and create an immersive experience. Casual first-person games play well too, but if you're a pro/elite you'll want something with a higher refresh rate and faster response times. Some games don't know how to handle the 32:9 aspect ratio, either reducing the vertical height or things like off-center cutscenes. It's also common for 3D games to stretch the image at the monitor's periphery; You should tweak the FOV (Field of View) setting if available to compensate and get it right. Installation: I used the included stand for about a year, but the size of the table annoyed me; The stand has reasonable vertical movement, but not enough to raise it to its preferred height above the tabletop, so I used the stand to get some extra height. It cost me about 1 square meter of work space. The monitor is VESA mount compatible but has a recessed VESA mount which means you will need spacers to mount it. I recently installed https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GFRP5HT (VIVO STAND-V155C) to install this monitor and free up desktop space. It makes my desk feel open again! Please note that if you wish to repeat this configuration, you will need to purchase 4 x M4 25mm pan head steel machine screws (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F32E91G) to use with to work with the recessed VESA mount. Future: I am eyeing the Samsung Odyssey G9 which is not yet available at the time of writing. The G9 is a little more geared towards gaming; It has the best refresh rate, Gsync and HDR but no KVM capabilities like the Dell. The G9 definitely needs a top-end graphics card to run.
