Review on 🎧 HT OMEGA Fenix Sound Card for PCI-Express Slots by Michael Gutierrez

I used to have an HT OMEGA STRIKER 7.1 card and was very happy with this card. I then moved to a new computer that didn't have the old PCI ports, so I had to buy a new PCIe sound card. Although Fenix claims "7.1 channels" and "S/PDIF output", it does not support 7.1 (or 5.1) via S/PIDF output! Surround sound ONLY via 3.5mm analogue outputs! If you're looking for digital surround sound, this isn't the card. The Striker 7.1 has a 7.1 digital output, the Fenix does not. Also, as other users have pointed out, the Fenix has a constant hissing background noise coming out of the headphone output, even when the volume is turned down. It may be coil squeak, but the Creative sound card I bought to replace the Fenix had no background hiss!
