As others mentioned, wear inside out
I bought these for a renfaire outfit, and they definitely prevent chafing, but are low enough to work with a corset. Downside- the seams are a bit obnoxious. I wish it had a gusset/smooth area in the crotch, but wearing it inside out works pretty well.

- The shorts may ride up and bunch in certain areas, leading to discomfort and potential chafing
