The Moman EMR Retro USB Condenser Microphone is ideal for video conferencing where audio quality makes a big difference in how you're perceived. I was interested in trying this mic because of the 192kHz/24-bit output and large 16mm diaphragm. The microphone is nicely packaged and easy to assemble. The USB Type-C connector simplifies setup. I connected it to my Arch Linux desktop and it was immediately recognized and ready to use. Many microphones in this price range have a volume control but no mix control. Luckily, EMR has one. The body and stand are made of plastic, making it lightweight yet strong and durable. Is the will easily scratched? Time will tell, but I don't think so. The volume and mix knobs are of surprisingly good quality - slim and well built. There is no mute button. The 3.5mm headphone jack is on the opposite side of the "stand" from the USB port. The frequency range is from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which corresponds to the range of human hearing. The frequency response is definitely not flat, and there is quite a bit of noise. Overall it has plenty of high-end energy, so be wary if your voice is struggling in that area. The vintage look is very cool. This is a mic you probably wouldn't mind having on your camera.
