Review on Victor 22-5-65101-8 36-Piece Roadside Emergency Kit by Daryl Fitch

Left me in the dark

On paper it looked like a worthy purchase of an emergency car kit. But then last week he was called to work for the first and only time, and he failed completely. I got the apartment after driving through an unnamed development area on a busy street near the nation's capital. I pulled into the far right lane and turned on 911. It was almost midnight, almost pitch black, and there were almost no streetlights. I opened the trunk and pulled out this kit and the first thing I did was reach for the flashlight. That does not work. (I later put my own batteries in and it still wouldn't turn on.) Fortunately, AAA came to my rescue and returned home safely. If this thing's flashlight doesn't work, who says other times are reliable? For just over $40, that's a terrible price. However, my biggest concern was when I tried to contact Bell Automotive. The package only lists their website so I tracked them down and tried calling them. Friday at 3:00 p.m. local time (their headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona) was empty. At the prompt, he dialed the customer service line and went to a lady's answering machine. It is clear that this is not a very professional, high-class operation. And this product reflects that, no pun intended.
