I have just adopted two kittens and knowing that cats go through many scratching posts in their lives, I wanted a scratching post that offered play and relaxation that didn't cost arms and legs and won It won't hurt my wallet to replace it in a year or two. Assembly was easy and only took about 15 minutes. The only thing I don't like so far is that my 22 month old baby seemed to be able to solve the little "cave" as my kids call it over time. I've tightened it several times since buying it. I've had it for about a month or so and the kittens have already unraveled the rope. All in all I think the blade is good for the price.
