***updated 10/02/2019 still working stable, haven't checked the voltages this year but will update when I do** Update from 8/2018 still runs strong and outputs 14.3 volts when the battery is low and 13.6 volts when the battery has a large capacity at idle. Now I use a "4000W" amp probably 700 RMS and an old "1500W amp" probably 300 RMS. I play my music constantly and loudly. I have higher traction fog lights on my Mustang and the alternator light won't come on. And my light doesn't dim when the bass hits hard. However, my battery has been at 12.3v overnight lately, possibly because I bought cheap $50 Walmart batteries. If I leave my car for 5 days, I need a tug. I blame the battery, not the alternator, for not holding capacity, my short commutes to school and work, and my constant listening to music. I use a $16 solar truck charger on my dash to offset the battery drain I have and so far no dead battery. Overall I would say this is a great alternator and don't be afraid to try it. it's over! At over half the price of the cheapest alternator you can find at Autozone or Oreillys (they cost over $200), this alternator was perfect for my 2000 Mustang GT convertible. My alternator is off, no problems so far. It's been a week and no sign of failure. I use a small 1500w sound system and my lights don't dim or anything. So far, so good. I'll update if it ever comes out.
