You get what you pay for with this speaker. In a way, speaking through a speaker is like speaking on TV: if it looks/sounds okay to you, then that's enough. From the first minute of the first film, I knew I wasn't going to be happy. My wife thought that was normal. The next day I hooked up a speaker with a JBL midrange driver in my family room and then compared that speaker to the JBL center. The difference in sound field was extremely noticeable.
