My 2007 Town & Country lift door (hatch) started falling off, especially in the colder weather. Replacing the legs was not a problem using a Torx T40, an extension (for body screws only), a percussion gun and a 7ft 5/4" piece to support the sunroof in the open position. I wouldn't recommend a helper to hold the sunroof up as it's impressively heavy and a prop would be better recommended. Incidentally, the props I received were initially frozen in the open position. I have most of my 280 pounds ahead placed separately on top of the installation and could not squeeze them. Upon investigation, this is a common occurrence after delivery, possibly due to temperature changes or barometric pressure changes that may occur during air delivery. After installation, I asked a friend to help lower the hatch to free it. Two people pulling down the hatch at points on each side where the supports attach to it, they disengaged and helped minimize buckling/bending of the tailgate. little by little I work and sometimes I make four beeps in protest; but I'm pretty sure these supports will weaken over time. Until then, it's convenient to press the key fob while my hands are busy opening the hatch and manually lowering it after the van is loaded. It is clear that the motor drive was primarily intended to lower the lift gate, while the struts mainly provide the thrust to open it. All in all, 10-15 minutes of work and $20 for parts made me a happy camper again. Hope that helps.
