Review on Noctua NF F12 PWM 4 Pin Premium by Rick Malloy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I can seriously recommend Noctura fans.

So they were bought to replace the stock fans on the Corsair H100i cooler. I've had the build for a few years but I've always kept the PC in an open space and noise hasn't been an issue. I also had a case where the cooler was mounted vertically across the back. I recently upgraded to a new top mount case and brought it into my living room. The standard fans are a bit noisy at first, but when mounted on top the bearings made a weird humming noise that annoyed me to no end. The fans can become quite noticeable on more resource intensive tasks (such as the Core I7 4970K). Insert Noctura. From the professional packaging to the included extras, these fans are simply stunning. You get an extension cord, low-noise adapter cord, rubber mounts if you don't use screws, and screws if you do. It is worth mentioning that both fans have a low-noise adapter installed and work at a speed of around 1200 rpm. Absolute silence. I can not hear anything. The F12 is designed for static pressure and, again, at home on the radiator. My observed temperatures stayed constant within room temperature variations and I never heard them. Also of note is that the H100i sounds like an airplane taking off on stock fans when it takes off. It's brief, but it booms when you wake up from standby or turn on the device. Not with these. You will not regret buying these fans.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Sad packaging
