There were no instructions so I played around with it for about 15 minutes; But it's easy enough for me to figure it out without resorting to an intern, and on the first try I took a 20" chain (Remington) from a blunt cut in the ground (that ran too deep on the stump) into one normal cut. Sharpening takes approx. 30 seconds, is faster than changing the knife (even with cleaning up) and has already paid for itself and I don't need more.
