My husband and I are missionaries from America to Zambia, Africa and bought this converter to use with a new blender we bought in the States. We tested the voltage and wattage of both devices to ensure this converter can handle the mixer. We took them both with us and when we first plugged the mixer into the converter and the converter into the wall the mixer clicked and started smoking - the transformer exploded! We took the converter to a kitchen appliance repair shop and they checked the voltage it was putting out. It was supposed to go from 220v to 110v but that converter was everywhere! Output 180V, then 130V, then 160V - all in minutes. The kitchen appliance repair shop does not currently have the necessary parts to repair the blender as it is made in the USA leaving us with a very expensive paperweight and a faulty converter. To say we're disappointed is a gross understatement. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT CONVERT PROPERLY - it is just a glorified adapter.
