great seed containers for starters
I was disappointed with the ill fitting lids on the starter bowls and decided to try these mugs instead. I simply drilled some 3/16 inch drainage holes in the soil, filled them with moist sourdough soil and planted the seeds. Since they will be planted right in the garden, I wanted something a little bigger than the typical sourdough container, which is probably around 3 ounces. This 9 ounce size will accommodate a much larger root system. The conical shape should make it easier to remove plants.
