As I have 3 dogs I don't need an indoor dryer that has to use water as it would be too easy for my dogs to knock it over. I read several reviews before choosing BetterVent. This gadget is great. It was easy to install on the wall next to my dryer. Putting it together and adding an 8ft vent hose to the dryer and a Bettervent hose hole in the base, I finally had the pleasure of drying about 4 loads of laundry. (Honestly, who "loves" to do laundry.) My laundry room has a vent in the ceiling, so I used that to vent the laundry room for a second load. I forgot to turn it on at first boot, but didn't really notice that the room, which is small, gets very hot. I bought this because we have an RV and the vent that leads to the outside has either been ripped off the outside vent or is hopelessly clogged after 14 years. I bought a new dryer with digital buttons and an air outlet. a warning if the vent isn't clean, and it kept blinking when I did a load with a dryer vent that ran under our house. At that moment, I stopped using the dryer to avoid burning it and temporarily hung the blown up clothes on a rope again. Calls to see if it could be fixed and cleaned weren't very good. Repairs, cleaning, etc. would cost over $300, and only if I could find someone to work on the mobile home. Yeah right. We campers are one-legged, ugly, red-haired adoptees that no one wants to work for. So $48 for Bettervent seemed like a much better and less expensive alternative. Easy to install (I'm in my 70's and a child or an older woman like me can install this.) 2. It looks good and is well built.3. It's easy to clean. Just open the door and any lint that gets on the screen inside can be easily removed.)4. Robbers who want you to spend large sums of money lose this.5. I asked questions and the people at BetterVent answered my questions the same day I asked them. Excellent customer service.6. Now I'm a happy, one-legged, ugly, redhead, foster kid with a camper van and a working dryer blower. So if you have any doubts about BetterVent, you can use it without any problems. I had doubts, but no more. This gadget really works and I am very happy with this purchase for my laundry. Something else. It was shipped quickly and I received it a day before the estimated delivery time. Add additional information. I've had it for a few months now and I use the same filter. It can be easily cleaned with a bristled bottle brush instead of foam to gently shake off the lint that collects inside the filter on the light blue side. It turns quite dark when filled with fluff but reverts to a light blue color when brushed. Of course I do it outside. The screen catches the rest. I also developed a habit of washing my clothes at night and drying them in the morning to take advantage of the "free heat". The heat heats up the laundry room, and some of that heat seeps into the rest of the home. This not only dries my clothes, but also saves on heating costs.
