I've almost lost count of how many plastic gas cans I've had to throw away because the spout lid broke and I couldn't find a replacement. Was very happy to find this container for a Midwest Can Co. container that had a cracked lid. Another reviewer stated that this lid also worked on a Blitz jar, but I didn't find that to be the case when trying it on a Blitz can - the threads are a different pitch and even when screwed tight , it doesn't I'm not going. deep enough to cover the drain seal. For the plastic jars I had left over, I changed my working method to prevent further breaking of the lids. Now I only tighten the caps when pouring fuel from the canister, then I loosen the torque on the cap and unscrew it so it's tight enough for a vapor lock for long term storage.
