Every box I've bought so far had at least one that just didn't work in the printer. I assume the chip is defective or something. The chips in Brother toner cartridges suck, but it's Brother's fault for designing a system that lets you use only 1/3 of the toner you buy and dump the toner cartridges while they're at least half full . This is not the fault of the cartridge manufacturers. I liked my 630/660 series printers much better than the 730/760 printers with chip counters built into the toner. the shops. Be aware and always have at least 2 on hand in case you get one with a bad chip.
