Review on SANDMARC Pole Waterproof Extension Session by Jesus Baker

Poor construction and design: doesn't work

Avoid this product. (Disclaimer: A lot of people like this pole, so maybe my experience is atypical, or maybe there's a lot of variation from item to item, which should be of concern to potential buyers.) Pros: This is a pole that stretches. The metal is strong (although the expansion joints are poorly constructed and flimsy). The grip is fine. If you plan to use it as a GoPro selfie stick on the go, you might be fine if it's expensive for that purpose. Cons: it's a telescopic (extending) wand. Should be easy. loosen the ring, lengthen it; tighten the ring. But the design of the ring is terrible. The ring can come loose and detach the two fragile plastic pads that should hold it in place, potentially losing your GoPro camera. Then a nightmare to collect. The ring sticks. If you use it in water (it's advertised as waterproof) the lubricating oil (gun oil, judging by the smell) will wash off meaning it will stick. (Why not use silicone grease?) The tolerances are terrible, so sand, dirt or grit can get into the joints. The tension screw makes the GoPro wobbly. If you add washers which are in a plastic bag easy to lose it will be better. There are no in-box instructions for using pucks, attachments, or techniques to prevent the stick from exploding when you try to lengthen it. The box looked like it had been opened and mailed to me - not new but "refurbished". I ordered it from Priority and it was delivered 3 days late. (Although Revain refunded at least that part of the fee.) I'm on vacation and can't return the item. Overall, I found this to be an item that could work great if you didn't need to expand it or use it anywhere people take a GoPro. For me it was a waste of money. Your mileage may vary.

Pros
