Well, while it was a great fan while it worked, it died on me in March 2021 after ordering it in September 2020. Electrically, the fan works fine, but the reason the fan stalls is due to the mechanism that locks the fan blade assembly in line with the stator (for the motor). I noticed that when I held the fan in certain positions, it would start shaking and the fan would slow down dramatically. I have 7 other geeks from different brands like Delta, AVC, Adda, Sanyo Denki etc and NONE of them had any problems. I took the fan apart to see what was wrong, but finding nothing obvious I put it back together. However, after assembly, the fan stopped spinning for a long time. It spins up and then "brakes" to a stop, waits a few seconds and starts again. I made sure I assembled it correctly but the problem persisted. When I took the fan apart again, I was able to get it working by 3D printing a small cylinder that held the blade assembly, but it's making more noise than before so I'll have to buy another fan. I left two stars simply because the fan didn't fail completely until after disassembly and I ran the fan upside down (blowing out air) for most of its life, which probably put a lot of stress on the metal ring holding it in place . together. However, two of my AVC fans have been running upside down for a while (a month or two) but to date they have not revealed any of the issues the wathai has had. **Below is my previous 5 star rating* *This fan puts all other consumer grade geeks to shame. There are many more powerful fans out there from companies like Sanyo-Denki, Nidec, AVC, and Delta (which are big fan manufacturers themselves), but they all have either very high current draws or exorbitant prices. $20 is a very good price for this fan given its capabilities. It's also only rated for 2.0 amps, meaning it can be used with the Noctua NA-FC1 fan controller to smoothly control its speed. I wouldn't connect it to a fan header on a computer motherboard as most motherboard fan headers can only supply one amp of current. As for the cons of this fan, it's pretty noisy at full speed, but you shouldn't expect silence from such a powerful fan (especially considering it's spinning at 5300 rpm). , the fan speed seemed to fluctuate slightly when I wasn't touching the fan controls. I'm not sure if this is a controller or fan failure, but it gave me a little concern about fan reliability. I'll update this review if my fan fails, but so far everything seems to be working great. I've had the fan for a few months now, everything is fine.
