I've been experimenting with this in a raised garden and in a scent. Seeds were prepared by mixing with peat moss and sowing evenly in a 3 x 6 foot area. Then beach balls, 5 gallons, were spread on top. A day later, protected from birds, the seeds began to germinate evenly. Nice to look at, easy to charge the beads up with a good spray every day or so. The size of the beads tells you when to charge. The experiment with the brewing bowl, which I placed in the air conditioning vent, went just as well. This provided a durable, easily refillable medium that served to control moisture and create flavor.
