The price was reasonable considering you get four filters. Most filters cost $10 or more for one. Upon initial inspection, the filters appeared to be in good condition. They seemed tough and hard. When I put in new filters I usually soak one end and then flip the filter over to soak the filter. These filters lose their rigidity when saturated and can crack or deform. I replaced the first filter after three days and the second didn't turn over. Instead, I open the filter to fit the fan housing and let the filter saturate at one end. While it seems to be working. When I remove the fan housing the filter is mushroom shaped and deforms when I replace the housing. A deformed filter leaves gaps that allow air to bypass the filter. As long as I DO NOT remove the fan housing, the filter works. These filters would be much better if they had a sturdy outer fabric to hold the filter's shape.
