Review on πŸ•’ AIMILAR Mechanical Hour Meter Gauge - Reliable Engine Hourmeter for Vehicle and Equipment Monitoring by Rick Vidaurri

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not for marine use Electric

Pros: Gauge looked good out of the box and matched my existing fuel gauge. It was easy to hook up the wiring to my boat's existing wiring and it worked well. Cons: In less than 4 months the entire sensor frame began to show signs of rust. The sensor itself is placed in the cabin so that it is not directly exposed to salt water splashes. The fuel gauge, partially shown at right, has been installed on the boat for over 10 years (probably much longer) and still looks like new. I suspect the oxidation would be much worse if used in an open console (like a center or dual console boat) where the gauge would often be in direct contact with salt water. I wouldn't hesitate to use this meter. generally anything that could potentially be exposed to high humidity.
