I love the sound of these speakers. I've always loved Klipsch products. My family room has a Klipsch home theater system. It replaced a 4 year old Klipsch Pro-Media 2.1 system that I've outgrown. I had to replace the driver in the woofer three times. I was listening to more and more music on my Mac and less and less on my home theater. Next to my new system, the Pro Media System is a toy. I tried the R-14PM first but the ones I got had a bad negative on the main speaker and sounded a bit bright so I returned them and got the R-15PM. They are paired with a Klipsch R-10SW subwoofer for a 2.1 system. The R-15B isn't as bright as the smaller speaker. They sound great in my opinion and pair really well with a subwoofer. The soundstage in my office is full and bright. The mids are full and the highs are bright and crisp. The reason for the rejection is that I believe this column has a serious flaw. They turn off when not in use and forget what volume they were at when turned back on. When you turn them back on, they're at their lowest volume. What makes this issue frustrating is the lack of visible cues on how to adjust the volume. I called Klipsch and they told me that this "feature" could not be disabled. I asked for a new replacement speaker, the R-51PM, and was told they behaved the same way. EDIT - I've had these speakers for 90 days now and I'm still very happy with them. However, I had connected them with a Monster Aux cable. DO NOT BUY THIS CABLE. It's garbage. Very poor and failed first properly in 90 days than both channels. I have since replaced it with a cable from another vendor that is much cheaper, better quality and heavier in construction. While waiting for a new cable I used a digital signal over USB. In my opinion the DAC in my Mac Pro is better than in Klipsch speakers. When using USB, speakers do not forget about volume, as with an analog signal. But if you are using a source with intermittent sound, such as B. normal computer alerts or a game, the sound is intermittent and comes and goes. Usually outside. If you're playing something with a steady tone, e.g. B. music, the sound is fine.
